Alternatively you could take in the views from one of the stately Derwentwater Launches that weave their way around the seven landing stages. Keswick, just 6 miles away, is well known as the Lake District's adventure capital. The town itself has a lovely bustling atmosphere and plenty to do whether you'd like to shop, take in a film, visit a museum or catch a play or concert at the wonderful Theatre By The Lake.
