Escape to this delightful stone terraced house sleeping four, set along a quiet street in the heart of bustling Windermere Village. It has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of light and space bringing this traditional house bang up to date with fresh decor, modern appliances, comfortable furnishings and an eye for quirky local artwork.
Less than a 100-metre stroll from the front door will take you to the centre of the village with its wealth of restaurants, cafes, pubs and independent shops. Not only that but England's largest lake is just over a mile down the road opening up a world of wonderful Lakeland scenery. The whole area around Lake Windermere is one of the most popular destinations in the Lake District and it's easy to see why with its gentle scenery, and wonderful walking and cycling, not to mention the vast array of things to do for visitors of all ages.
Just two minutes walk from the cottage, at the top of the road, is Queen's Park, with plenty of space to stretch little legs (child or dog) plus tennis courts, a football pitch, children's playground and a skate park, all with fell views, of course.
Why not take a trip to Brockhole with the family? There's a wonderful tree-top trek where you could find yourself whooping along high above the beautiful grounds on a huge zip wire or bouncing about in the canopy with the young ones in the tree top nets. For something more relaxing you could enjoy a cruise around the lake on one of the stately Windermere steamers or seek out Michelin starred dining just a few miles up the road at The Samling.
On arrival at the property you are greeted by a bright hallway with plenty of space for coats and the muddy boots you're likely to accumulate on your Lake District jaunt. The living room is a wonderful bright airy space with fresh decor, a beautiful bay window and two elegant sofas for lounging after busy days. The room benefits from a coal-effect gas fire and a Smart TV with DVD for snuggling up in the evenings. Beyond this is the delightful dining room in which the light airy colour scheme continues. It's a great space for enjoying long post dinner chats as it has a lovely wood burner and a large dining table and chairs. Perfect for getting the maps out and planning your adventures. At the rear of the house is the modern, well-equipped kitchen and the door to the back yard and parking area. It has gas hobs with an under counter electric double oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer. Beyond the kitchen there is also a handy downstairs WC.
Moving upstairs onto the wide landing which has a decorative stained glass skylight, the first room you reach is the gorgeous spacious bathroom. It's a bright fresh room with a velux window letting the light just flood in. It has a lovely modern bathroom suite with 'd' bath and mixer shower and a huge drencher head too, ideal for massaging away aching muscles.
The calm, fresh decor runs through both of the spacious bedrooms with some wonderful quirky local artwork too. Both the double and twin have wardrobes, dressers and large sash windows.
Outside there is a bench at the rear of the property to enjoy morning sunshine while outside the front bay window there is another which is perfect to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings while watching the world go by.
