This two-bedroom terraced house is set in Bridgefoot, a peaceful village nestled between the Lake District National Park and the picturesque Solway Coast.
The cottage welcomes up to two dogs and is a great value spot for a couple or family of four to make the most of this lovely area. The beautiful, tranquil, Western Lakes are within easy reach with Loweswater, Crummock and Ennerdale all less than half an hour away. Around these wonderfully picturesque lakes you’ll find some of the most glorious walking in the area not to mention even more excellent pubs. The Solway coast is also just a 20-minute drive away - this part of the county has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its abundant bird life, quiet seaside towns and stunning sunsets, and is most definitely worth a visit.
The cottage is only 10 minutes from Cockermouth which was the birthplace of Wordsworth. This is a delightful Georgian town with a friendly atmosphere, lots of independent shops and lovely restaurants. Why not explore Wordsworth’s childhood home or take a tour round Jennings Brewery and try some of their beers during your visit? On arrival, the front door leads directly into the cosy living area. Here there's a wood burner-effect electric fire and a Smart TV to enjoy a good film. The owners have thoughtfully provided a selection of books and games to help you while away quiet evenings.
Through from the living room is the dining area, with a dining table seating four. This room leads to the well-equipped modern kitchen. It has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, a microwave/combi oven as well as an electric oven and hobs.
The characterful staircase is fairly steep and narrow so is somewhat unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. This leads up to the master bedroom with its beautiful antique double bedstead and traditional furniture. At the top of the stairs is the twin room, once Again this has some lovely examples of traditional furniture including a 'gentleman's wardrobe'. You access the bathroom through this bedroom. The bathroom has an over bath mixer shower. Within the twin room here there is also an airing cupboard with plenty of hanging space which is also ideal should you need to dry any items.
To the rear of the cottage there is a charming courtyard garden. The owners have provided bird feeders which means that the cottage gets a fantastic array of garden visitors including gorgeous red squirrels. It really is an ideal spot to sit out on a summer evening basking in the sunshine.
