This welcoming holiday home is a lovely four-bedroom end of terrace Lakeland cottage with stunning views of the Skiddaw mountain range. It is situated on the edge of the village of Portinscale, which is on the shores of Derwentwater Lake.
There are countless scenic walks from Portinscale, either along the shore of Derwentwater or up on the fells and mountains. Here you can make the most of the peace and tranquillity that the Lake District has to offer.
It is only a 20-minute walk along a picturesque pathway into the town of Keswick which has a wealth of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There is also a leisure pool, cinema, climbing wall and theatre. If you don’t want to go right into Keswick, the local pub is a stone’s throw away from the property and serves excellent food and real ale.
The property is a sympathetically restored traditional stone built Lakeland cottage with many original features.
The living room is warm and comfortable with plenty of seating for eight people and a wood burner. This room is connected to the dining area with french doors, giving you the option of having the space as one large room or two smaller rooms.
The kitchen is light and airy. It is fully equipped with a gas hob, electric fan oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
On the first floor are three bedrooms - one double, one twin with Juliet balcony and views towards Skiddaw (the Lake District's fourth highest mountain), and one with a set of adult sized bunks. There is also a large shower room on this floor with luxury shower, WC and basin.
A private staircase takes you to the master double bedroom with an en-suite shower room with WC and basin. The views towards Skiddaw and Latrigg through the skylights are fantastic!
Outside is a large wrap around deck situated over two levels including a large family level with outside table and chairs. The decking leads down to a rockery garden area and parking beyond for two cars. If you have extra cars, there is further parking nearby.
