The garden is planted with a variety of flowers and plants creating a tranquil environment.

Drigg is a small village on the edge of the Lake District, situated close to the coast, and near to Ravenglass. Eskdale, Wasdale and Miterdale all of which are within a 15-minute drive. Here you can enjoy some of the finest fell walking the Lake District has to offer. For a more leisurely way of getting around, hop on the La’al Ratty narrow gauge railway at nearby Ravenglass and enjoy the scenic journey from the sea to the heart of the fells.

Drigg has a good local pub that serves meals and local ale. The village also has a mainline station for the coastal railway that travels between Barrow in Furness and Carlisle, you could use it to explore more of the Cumbrian Coastline or have a day exploring the attractions at Cumbria's capital. You can walk down (approx one and a quarter miles) to the beach from the property and enjoy a walk amongst the sand dunes towards the mouth of the River Esk at Ravenglass. The owner of the house has a craft shop with small coffee shop at the railway station serving hot drinks and cakes and selling gifts, woollens and crafts.

There is a ramp to the front door which opens into the the hall, which leads to the rest of the house. The kitchen is fitted with a built in oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine and halogen hob and microwave.

The sitting room has patio doors to the garden and comfortable seating. There is an electric fire with tiled surround and a flatscreen TV. The sitting room also has a small dining area with table and chairs for three people.

There are two bedrooms, a double size bedroom and single bedroom. The bathroom has a bath and shower over the bath.

The property is suited to those with limited mobility and has concrete ramp access to the front door.

A comfortable cottage with a lovely garden and secluded seating area. With off road parking, on a fairly busy minor road but not too intrusive.

The cottage was in a very quiet location, ideal for anyone wanting to completely get away from a busy life style. The lack of amenities within Drigg meant that you dd need to travel to Seascale or beyond for food or supplies. Google did indicate that the local Hotel was still open for lunches etc but we found this not to be the case.

We had a very pleasant stay at Wood Cottage. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were smooth and cosy. Everywhere was clean and welcoming. Quite the home from home. We took a lovely coastal walk through Drigg & along the sand dunes. We had a much needed cup of coffee and delicious homemade ice cream in Seascale. We drove to Coniston & walked aRead morelong part of the Scafell route. There were wonderful views and we took plenty of photos. Kathleen, the host was friendly and helpful. Hide

Lovely, spacious cottage, that is much bigger than the photos imply. Clean & tidy and well equipped with a fantastic private garden to sit out in and enjoy. If it's important to you whilst on holiday (wasn't to us) there is no Wi-Fi/internet and phone signal isn't great (O2). Not a great choice of Tv channels either. Good location for getting the tRead morerain to Carlisle or Barrow, or walking/driving down to the large, quiet unspoilt beaches and dunes. As well as having the Lake District close by. Hide

A quiet, clean and comfortable cottage. Kathleen was very generous with her time and went out of her way to help us make the most of our stay, particularly providing up-to-date information on public transport.
