Set in the heart of the beautiful Newlands Valley, this cottage is a tranquil setting sleeping up to six people. It overlooks Catbells and has a stunning backdrop of Causey Pike and Barrow, both of which can be accessed from the cottage.
It has been converted from a former corn mill, retaining many original features inside to offer comfortable and welcoming self-catering accommodation. It occupies a peaceful rural location set within 2 acres of garden and woodlands. There is secure storage for bikes and outdoor equipment and a handy boot area.
Newlands Valley is the picture perfect valley where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her tales. The mountain scenery is wonderfully inspiring and the fell walking here is second to none. For those wishing to cycle, then the testing Newlands Pass is on the doorstep, as well as Whinlatter and Honister for the brave.
An inn is half a mile away, serving good food and drink. Their beer garden is an excellent spot to watch the sun set. Keswick is only 4 miles away offering a wide selection of pubs, cafes and shops.
The entrance leads into the warm and comfortable sitting room, with a woodburning stove, logs are provided for the wood burner from owners woodland. There are views to Catbells, comfortable seating and a TV with Freesat and DVD player.
The dining room has a large table and chairs, feature fireplace (not functional) and is open-plan to the kitchen.
The kitchen has a modern electric halogen hob with an electric oven. There is also a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and an integrated full size fridge and freezer. There is a downstairs WC.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. All the bedrooms are furnished with freestanding wooden furniture, and enjoy fell views of Causey Pike or Catbells.
There is a large bathroom with a bath and electric shower over, WC and wash basin with shaving point.
Outside there is a sitting out area to the rear of the cottage which catches the late afternoon and early evening sun and has views of Causey Pike. There is also a small wooded area (please note there is a shallow mill pond in the wood, which is about 10 inches deep). The front garden and driveway are shared with the neighbouring cottage.
