This cottage is in the stunning location of the Newlands Valley. The elevated position of the cottage offers uninterrupted views of glorious mountain scenery including Catbells, Robinson and Blencathra.
The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, offering comfortable and homey accommodation. Located between Braithwaite and Buttermere, the cottage is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists looking to explore this north western corner of the Lake District. There is superb walking straight from the door either on the valley floor or into the surrounding fells.
Keswick is a 10-minute drive away, offering a wide selection of pubs, restaurant and shops. The local inn is well worth a visit, located on the other side of the valley and reached by a walk of just over a mile along the valley roads.
The cottage is featured in the popular BBC drama, 'The A Word' as the family's home.
The cottage entrance leads into the sitting room, furnished with a leather sofa and chairs, flatscreen Freesat TV and DVD player and a wood burner-effect electric fire. There is Wi-Fi internet at the cottage. From the windows there is a fabulous view of the Newlands Valley.
The kitchen has recently been fully refurbished. It has a dining table and chairs, built in undercounter fridge and separate freezer, microwave and an electric double oven. There is a dishwasher. Guests have use of the utility room which has a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. A door opens onto a small partially enclosed yard and at the rear of property.
Open plan stairs lead to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The double bedroom has stunning views of the Newlands Valley whilst the twin bedroom looks to the woodland at the rear of the cottage.
The shower room has a shower enclosure, WC and wash basin.
Outside there is a sitting out area to the front of the cottage with flower tubs and stunning views of Newlands Valley. To the rear is a small yard and a woodland area.
The owner's adjoining barn can be used for storage of bikes and outdoor equipment by prior permission. Private parking is available directly opposite the property. A welcome pack is provided. This cottage does not accept pets or children under the age of 4.
