This is a wonderful cottage in the village of Threlkeld. Located above the village, the cottage has outstanding uninterrupted views of St John's in the Vale from the sitting room. You can also wake up to the beautiful view from the master bedroom; it is almost worth staying in bed for!

The cottage has been lovingly renovated by the current owners and now offers stylish country living, with two wood burners to keep you nice and cosy and all the modern facilities you would expect in a holiday cottage.

The location of the cottage, as its name suggests, gives easy access to some wonderful walking particularly on Blencathra, one of the most iconic fells in the Lake District. Threlkeld also has two welcoming pubs, both of which serve food and local ale. The amenities and shops of Keswick are just a 5-minute drive away or a pleasant 4-mile stroll along the old railway line.

You can walk straight into the Glenderaterra Valley from this cottage, a scenic and straightforward walk, also suitable for mountain bikers.

You enter the cottage via a small hallway with an area for boots and coats. This leads into the fantastic kitchen with dining area. The kitchen has the original sandstone flag floor and is equipped with an induction hob, electric oven, integrated under counter fridge, a lovely feature Belfast sink and an integrated dishwasher. There is also a wood burner so you can dine with a fire on in the background.

Off the kitchen is the utility room which is very useful for drying wet outdoor clothes. This room also has a washer/dryer, microwave and under counter freezer.

From the kitchen a small hallway leads to the sitting room. This room has amazing views down St John's in the Vale and comfortably seats four people. The wood burner will keep you cosy and there is a TV with Freeview and a DVD player. A door opens out into the garden which is enclosed and has a patio area for enjoying summer evenings and of course the wonderful view.

Upstairs is the large master bedroom, furnished with a double bed from which you can enjoy the view of St John's in the Vale. There is also a flatscreen TV and plenty of storage space.

The twin bedroom at the rear of the property looks out to Blencathra and is also furnished with a flatscreen TV and has plenty of storage.

The bathroom has a beautiful roll-top bath with shower over, a wash basin and a WC.

A good cottage for two friends to stay, because there are two separate bedrooms with doors. Very pretty spot with nice views from the back and a lovely established garden. I was worried about the parking because (as with so many cottages), the photos don't show the general layout with respect to the road, and the parking space. Once booked, you getRead more a postcode and can look it up on Streetview - was worried parking outside would be too tight but it was fine. Generally lovely, would recommend. Hide
