Lovely location with views of Carl Side from the cottage and a very short walk across a field to the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. Gorgeous! Also very close to Dodd Wood which is a great spot for sheltered walks (nicely signposted by the Forestry Commission). The woodburning stove was appreciated by us as it was autumnally rainy whilst we were therRead moree. The downstairs nicely accommodated our family in the two bedrooms, and there were safety gates for the stairs. Thanks for a lovely holiday :) Hide

A lovely, country cottage, within a few paces of Bassenthwaite Lake. The cottage is on a working farm, but not one with hundreds of cows or poultry running around and it's really quiet. It's a nice, homely place to stay, perfect for a family, although the bedrooms are on separate levels, with one double upstairs and the rest downstairs. The dining Read morearea is great for sitting around after dinner and playing board games. There's no WiFi so do bring games. Plenty of walks & pubs are nearby too! Hide
