The small village of Threlkeld is a popular walking destination in the northern Lake District, with the imposing ridges of Blencathra stand tall above the village providing a wonderful backdrop to this quiet location. There are also two excellent pubs both just a few minutes' walk from the property. There are at least two traditional pubs with warm welcoming atmospheres and both serve food and local ales close by
You can take a short drive from the village into the popular market town of Keswick, which has plenty of attractions including Derwentwater, a theatre, shops, and eateries. Or why not explore the history of the area with a trip to Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum? Whatever you choose to busy yourself with, The property is a warm and welcoming base for you to return to at the end of the day!
The property has an enclosed entrance porchway suitable for hanging coats and storing boots on the slate floor and under the seat. This leads through into the living room which has a feature sandstone fireplace and wood burner. The initial supply of fuel for the wood burner is provided. Leather sofas and an armchair are provided around the wood burner and a freesat TV with DVD player. Wi-Fi internet is also available.
A doorway leads into the well-equipped kitchen where you will find an electric induction hob and two eye level ovens, an integrated fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher and microwave. A table and chairs seat 6 people.
A separate utility room houses a washing machine, dryer and a separate airer. There is also a WC and handwash basin.
The conservatory is a step up from the kitchen. There are fabulous views into the garden and to Blencathra.
On the first floor is the family bathroom featuring a bath with hand-held shower, a separate large shower cubicle, WC and wash basin.
There is a double bedroom to the front and upstairs on the second floor there is a bunk bedroom and a further double bedroom.
Outside, the back garden stretches to half an acre with a large lawn, shrubs and a paved sitting out area with table and chairs. There are fantastic views looking directly at Blencathra.
There is a large gated parking area to the side of the property and the front garden is covered in loose slate. In total there is space for two cars to be parked.
