The cottage has been sympathetically refurbished in a characterful farmhouse style with exposed beams and stonework. The sitting room is set around a feature cast iron fireplace and the log burner, and the musically inclined can enjoy some music on the piano in the music room. There is a dog friendly pub just a few minutes down the road, serves delicious country pub fayre prepared by their creative chefs.
The pleasant market town of Cockermouth is 5 miles away and offers many independent, shops antique shops, and plenty to see. Why not visit the old-fashioned ironmongers, J B Banks and Son, which houses a small museum? There is also an abundance of restaurants, pubs and cafes. Keswick is also nearby and is known as, 'the outdoor capital of the Lake District'. However, it has even more to offer with shops catering for everyone, several bespoke jewellers, art galleries, contemporary gift shops, and interesting museums.
The property is entered via the kitchen door (from the pebbled parking area for three cars) into a spacious farmhouse kitchen and dining area. The newly fitted kitchen with oak worktops is well equipped with integrated recycling bins, a dishwasher, fan assisted oven and ceramic hob, built in microwave, integrated fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a ceiling drying rack.
