Situated on a charming terrace of Lakeland cottages above the tumbling Coledale Beck, this self-catering holiday cottage offers scores of walks for all abilities straight from its front door. In a prime location in the village of Braithwaite, the cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has a range of complimentary items including tea, coffee, sugar, milk and toiletries. The sitting room in this cottage is situated upstairs to make the most of the amazing views over the fells.
Braithwaite is ideally situated for exploring the surrounding mountains, rivers and lakes. Whether it be mountainous walks up in the Coledale Fells, gentle strolls around Derwentwater or paddling and picnicking in the Newlands Valley, all are easily reached on foot from the village. Rising above Braithwaite is the mountain forest of Whinlatter with numerous mountain bike trails and high ropes course (Go Ape). The village shop is well stocked with a deli counter, traditional sweet jars and fresh bread and groceries. Braithwaite is well served with three pubs/inns, all serving food.
Keswick is within walking distance or a 5-minute drive where there are further pubs and restaurants as well an independent supermarket. Keswick is a hub of outdoor activity and there is something to do for everyone in the local area. Cockermouth, the home of Wordsworth, is a 15-minute drive and while you are there it's well worth paying a visit to the Jennings Brewery.
The sitting room is on the first floor, with windows to all sides offering views to the Skiddaw range and the Coledale fells. The sitting room is equipped with a Smart TV which has Netflix, and a large comfortable corner sofa to relax on. There is a cloakroom with a WC just off the sitting room.
The well-appointed kitchen has a gas hob with a single oven. A large combined fridge/freezer is suitable for parties of six people. It is also equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher and recycling bins and all appliances are A-rated. Open plan to the kitchen is the dining room with a mahogany table and french window leading to the patio.
There is a downstairs bathroom with shower over the bath, WC, and a utility room.
On the ground floor is the master king-size bedroom. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom and 1 single.
There is a side yard which is secure for dogs, faces east and has a table so ideal for taking breakfast outside in the summer. Recycling bins and a parking area for one car are to the side of the cottage.
