An enchanting, traditional Lakeland cottage for two, sympathetically converted to offer light, inviting accommodation in an enviable position near Derwentwater and Keswick.
This cottage provides light and airy, tastefully decorated and very comfortable accommodation for two people in a striking location in the Borrowdale valley, just outside Keswick. The attractively furnished cottage, a stone-built conversion, occupies a superb elevated position with a sunny south-west aspect just in front of Walla Crag and overlooking the beautiful Borrowdale Valley.
It is located just over a mile from the market town of Keswick, thereby having the best of both worlds with the town amenities to hand but being in a rural location with an abundance of wildlife. The woods to the rear provide a habitat for deer and for rare flora and fauna and are carpeted with bluebells in the spring. There is an abundance of walks from the door including down to Derwentwater lakeside as well as onto the fells. The summit of nearby Walla Crag provides superb views down the Derwent Valley to Keswick and beyond and spectacular sunsets can be seen to the west.
The cottage is accessed via the large doorway from the patio area, leading into the open-plan kitchen and dining room. This room has splendid views from the windows looking across to the fells and down the Borrowdale Valley. The well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer shelf, dishwasher and microwave. There is a separate utility room housing the washer/dryer and controls for the external boiler.
The tastefully decorated bedroom has a zip-and-link superking-size bed (can be twins if required) and views on two sides to the adjacent woods and field. The modern bathroom has a shower over the bath and heated towel rail, and window to the rear with views of the woodland.
The lounge has comfortable seating and a wall-mounted Smart TV. The double aspect windows provide lovely fell views.
Outside there are two patio areas, one of which has a table and chairs to enjoy the superb views to the fells. Across the drive, the adjacent owner's house and garden are a delight to look out upon, and wildlife, including deer and red squirrels, can often be seen in the woods at the rear.
