Portinscale benefits from excellent lake access. Nicholl End and Derwent Marina offer excellent sailing facilities for all manner of boats, whether you launch your own or choose to hire one. You can also hop on the launch to sail across to Keswick or Lodore in Borrowdale.
Portinscale has a characterful local pub, The Farmer’s Arms and several hotels that welcome non residents. Keswick is a 15 minute leisurely stroll along a flat path, saving you the headache of parking.
There are several good walks straight from the door of Stable Cottage including the family favourite Catbells, Causey Pike, the Newlands Valley and the lovely round the lake trail.
The property is accessed through the stable door in the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric hob and oven, washing machine, microwave, undercounter fridge and freezer and a dishwasher. A separate door leads from the kitchen to the lounge which has a feature fireplace with a wood burner and comfortable seating, a flatscreen Smart TV and DVD player. The dining area has a table and chairs.
The stairway leads to the double bedroom, twin bedroom and single bedroom. The bathroom is on the landing along with the bedrooms. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished with tasteful free standing furniture. The bathroom has a bath with shower overhead, WC and wash basin.
Outside is a south facing sitting out area with garden furniture and private parking area for one car.
