It has a warm and comfortable sitting room with open fire, well-equipped kitchen and dining room with characterful original slate flags. There are six bedrooms with two en-suite bathrooms and a separate bathroom.
There are two neighbouring houses - one cottage sleeping 12 guests and one cottage sleeping four - allowing several households to stay on the same site in separate houses.
The gardens are extensive with a large mature gardens to the front of the house, and a terraced garden to the back.
Lamplugh is a great starting point for exploring the quiet western Lake District. Loweswater is 3 miles away with a beautiful lakeside woodland and an award winning pub at the head of the lake. Ennerdale is also close by and is one of the most remote and lonely valleys in the Lake District. There is superb fell walking in the valley and a wonderful sense of solitude.
This cottage is well situated for enjoying the Cumbrian coastline where you can enjoy pony trekking, fishing and bird watching. Cockermouth is the nearest town, just 15 minutes away. It has a friendly atmosphere with several good cafes, independent shops (including some good antique shops) and a supermarket.
The porch leads to a dining room with seating for ten to 12 guests. The kitchen has an electric, ceramic range cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and plenty of storage space. There is a utility room next door for extra storage space, washing machine, tumble dryer and additional fridge with a large freezer compartment.
The sitting room is beautiful with an open fire and comfortable sofas and chairs to seat ten. Coal is provided to create the perfect atmosphere. There are a variety of board games for entertainment, as well as a widescreen TV with DVD and video player.
Also downstairs is one of the twin bedrooms with an en-suite shower room with WC. There is also an additional toilet room downstairs. Upstairs there are two further twin bedrooms, two double bedrooms (please note, access to the second twin bedroom is via one of the double bedrooms), one king-size bedroom (en-suite with shower room) and a separate bathroom (bath with shower over). The second twin has its own basin.
The grounds cover over an acre and command views of the Lake District fells and mountains.
