This charming cottage is nestled within tranquil countryside 3 miles from Wigton, a market town that sits between the Solway Coast AONB and the Lake District National Park. This dog-friendly cottage features a spacious lounge, a games room and a large garden, making it perfect for active families or groups of friends.

The two-storey cottage is located just off a quiet country lane that passes through gently rolling countryside. Its contemporary, unfussy interior enjoys open views of the surrounding area, along with quirky features including exposed beams and cornerstones. You will enter the cottage via the sunroom, a place to hide when you need some quiet time away from the madding crowd. The split-level lounge can be divided into two sections and enjoys multiple places to chill before and after long days out. The kitchen and utility room are ideal for experimenting with local produce and sorting out messy pups, while the dining room is all set up for dinner parties that last well into the evening. The nearby games room and snug are great for youngsters who want their own space, and few will pass up a turn in the Jacuzzi in the family bathroom that completes the ground floor. Head upstairs for the comfort of the double bedroom or the triple bedroom that comprises a double bed and a single bed. There’s loads of room on the garden lawn for dog-friendly children’s games while adults kick back on the patio and soak up the view.

Wigton (3 miles) is a vibrant market town packed with attractions that suit guests of all ages, from shops and pubs to sports centres and theatres. The surrounding countryside is a haven for walkers and wildlife lovers, with numerous nature reserves found between the coast and the cathedral city of Carlisle (8 miles). Elsewhere, Keswick, Derwentwater, Lake Bassenthwaite and Hadrian’s Wall are within 25 miles.

Very relaxing stay, property had all we needed to keep us occupied for a 2 week stay. Anthony was really helpful and checked we had all we needed. Loved seeing the calves and lambs in the neighbouring field and watching the hedgehogs in the garden in the evenings. Lovely stay.

Lovely cottage located in the Cumbrian countryside. Owners live next door on their farm so are nearby should you need anything. Lots of nearby walks for the doggie however was a little disappointed that he couldnt join us upstairs at bedtime.
