A beautifully converted barn on the edge of Allonby Village, with its long sandy beach and views across the Solway and to towards the Galloway hills.
A beautiful barn conversion 1.5 miles from Allonby, one of the many pretty coastal villages found across the Solway Coast AONB. This family-friendly cottage is a convenient base for walkers and cyclists keen to explore the Lake District National Park and features a spacious lounge/diner, a bespoke country-style kitchen and a private courtyard garden.
This one-storey cottage is located down a quiet lane and is surrounded by acre upon acre of open countryside. It possesses a fresh and welcoming ambience thanks to rustic furnishings that sit throughout large rooms that bathe in the sunshine pouring in through skylights and wide windows and doors. Join together as a group in the spacious lounge/diner for a fortifying breakfast before a day by the coast, or when taking the weight off tired limbs upon your return for films and nibbles. Knocking up meals will be a cinch in the gorgeous country-style kitchen, which has everything passionate foodies need to work wonders with local produce. You won’t have to tread far down the hallway to find the cottage’s two family bedrooms, both of which comprise a king-size bed and a single bed. One has an en-suite, one does not, but everyone is welcome to use the large shower room nearby. When the weather is fine, head out into the private courtyard garden at the front of the cottage for morning coffees, al fresco snacks and nightcaps.
It’s possible to see the Galloway Hills from the beach at Allonby (1.5 miles), an impressive stretch of sand that hugs the Solway Coast Path. Maryport and Cockermouth (within 11 miles) are typical of the beautiful towns found within easy reach of the cottage, while the Lake District National Park (12.5 miles) is home to awe-inspiring peaks, lakes and vibrant communities.
