A luxurious, grand house set in its own grounds with views over the stunning Lake Windermere and your own private hot tub - you’ll never want to leave.

This stunning house, sitting within its own grounds, with spectacular views of Lake Windermere, is the perfect base for exploring the southern Lake District, and experiencing exhilarating water sports. It has plenty of space for 10 people, plus their four-legged friends. Let the canines roam the fully enclosed garden while you enjoy a cool drink sitting on the sun deck or in the hot tub. The house has a downstairs bedroom, a cosy wood burner and is on the edge of Windermere, close to the lake and local amenities.

The house exudes luxury with tasteful, high-end fixtures and fittings throughout. Go into the elegant lounge, perfect for relaxing while the wood burner flickers, or sit in the second lounge, with another wood burner and a Smart TV. Cook delicious meals in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen, eat at the kitchen table or get together for special meals in the glamourous dining room. There’s also a king-size bedroom on the ground floor as well as a shower room, a separate WC, and a utility room. The other bedrooms are upstairs, the master en-suite king-size bedroom, another king-size, and two king-size/twin rooms. These last three rooms are served by the family bathroom. Outside, laze in the sun on the deck, enjoy BBQs together, and soak tired muscles in the hot tub after a long walk.

Go into Windermere to go shopping, pop out for a drink or meal, and wander around the lake, where you can go sailing, rowing, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking and water skiing. Take a ride on a steam train on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway (11 miles), visit Wray Castle (7.5 miles) and explore the World of Beatrix Potter (1.5 miles). Have a fun day out at Brockhole on Windermere (2 miles), hire a boat, or try archery, laser clay and indoor caving.

  • 5 bedrooms - 1 super-king-size, 2 super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twins on request; request must be made at time of booking less than 7 days notice may incur additional charges), and 2 king-size. 2 with lake views, 3 with garden views.
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 en-suite shower room with WC, 1 bathroom with shower, bath and WC, 1 downstairs shower room and WC and 1 separate WC
  • Gas AGA, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher

  • One cot and one highchair available
  • Garden with new multi level decking area- Be careful on ascent and around barriers, owner cannot accept any responsibility for an injury.
  • Lawned areas and multiple seating spots with amazing views over Lake Windermere, please be aware there is a pond in the garden and some raised areas so children should be supervised at all times.
  • Private hot tub and gas BBQ
  • Private parking for up to 5 cars
  • Pubs, restaurants and shops all within walking distance
  • Please note, group bookings may be checked to ensure the purpose of the stay is for a holiday, and where relevant, a security deposit may be requested.
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at ÂŁ20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of ÂŁ500 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for ÂŁ50. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

The house suits a large party and our extended family enjoyed the house and the gardens. We were never short of an appliance/utensil etc. The location is fantastic with amazing views of the lake.

Watermead, is a very beautiful cottage with a gorgeous garden, all enclosed and so, very safe for dogs. It is located in a beautiful residential area which is very quiet. The cottage is tastefully decorated with everything needed and plenty of space. The lake view is superb & the hot tub an added treat. The welcome pack & drinks and all the extras Read morethat are in the cottage show that the owners really do care for their guests. Fabulous stay in Watermead! The house was impeccably clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The gardens were beautiful and the view from the top deck was the cherry on top! Holidaycottages staff were lovely to deal with and easily contactable at all times. A great family holiday!

This is a big, beautiful house with a great view of Windermere. The easiest way to get to the lake is to drive a mile or so to Millerground. The house is well-equipped with everything the chef could want and some nice jigsaws for wetter days. The garden is large, well-enclosed and safe for your dog. Beautiful house and location. Beds comfy. Sociable kitchen space, well equipped. Enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife and also the jets blasting overhead! Shame the pub in walking distance is a bit grim.

Just WOW! What a fantastic property. Stayed there with my family, there was 8 of us and it is lovely and spacious for everyone. Brilliant location for everywhere, however you feel like your miles away as the ground as so big and beautiful. It just felt like home from home and we were all sad to leave. We had our 2 dogs with us too and they lived thRead moree freedom as its all fenced in and very secure. My sons all have paddle boards and it is so near to the lake for this. This is a wonderful house for family gatherings and celebrations -no expense has been spared in making it the perfect place to relax in real luxury! We particularly loved the fabulous well equipped spacious kitchen with AGA. Lovely bed linen and towels which make such a difference. The huge garden is quite stunning with azaleas and rhododendrons.
