This lovely farmhouse is situated on a working farm in the centre of the village, surrounded by lakes and mountains - an outdoor adventurers paradise.

Leave the car behind and explore the Lakes on foot, this property is conveniently situated close to Buttermere, Crummock Water and two extremely scenic waterfalls. Filled with traditional farmhouse elements including a warming Aga, this lovely cottage provides an exceptional place to stay for up to seven guests. The family-ready holiday home enjoys a remote working farm location with a cute café next door and bundles of scenery all around, ideal for any extended families or groups of friends hoping to get away from it all and enjoy a tranquil break.

Finished to a high standard, you’ll want for nothing in this lovely place. Enter via the boot room and leave any outdoor equipment behind.  There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and separate WC in this room too. A sociable kitchen/diner leads on from here, complete with a large farmhouse table and plenty of space to cook up your group’s favourite dishes. Once dinner is cleared away, the lounge with an open fire and Smart TV will beckon for restful evenings filled with sofa lounging. Unless, of course, the sun is shining, in which case drinks on the private patio are a must. Back indoors, all three bedrooms and a family bathroom are on the first floor.

There’s a variety of walking routes for guests of all ages and abilities found close by, well-suited to multi-generational stays. Make sure you venture to the Scale Force Waterfall (2.5 miles) and the Moss Fall Waterfall (1.5 miles), both extremely scenic spots with beautiful countryside all around them. For those who really want to get stuck into something fun, the nearby town of Keswick (9 miles) is a well-known adventure capital. Head here to find outdoor activity centres ready to take you out on any number of adrenaline-pumping excursions.

Clean and tidy with good quality bedding, towels, utensils. Utility area handy for drying/storing walking boots, coats etc. Very close to lots of great walks. Bus stop a few steps away from cottage - great service but gap for few winter months. There were just 2 of us and we stayed 2 weeks - there was insufficient toilet roll, and the cleaning packRead more has limited washing up liquid and bin bags (if you don't want a trip to a store, please be aware). Lovely holiday cottage in a perfect location! Very close to the Lake and found it very cozy. The only downside was that the sheets in the double bedroom had a sauce stain on it, which was unfortunate. Otherwise the cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely visit again!

The cottage is in a superb location near two pubs, a cafe and a very short walk to both Buttermere and Crummock. The cottage has large rooms and is well equipped. Two dedicated parking spaces outside the door away brilliant.

Property is decent especially for big families (4 bedrooms). Views are not great since it is not on lakefront and windows are small. There are cottages/hotels with better views. Dont count on the internet. Its weak (did not work for most of our stay) though the cafe next door has quite good connectivity (old routers at cottage). Only one bathroom iRead mores an issue (we were just two but bigger families will struggle). Biggest issues is Holidaycottages team. Farms directly managed are far better Hide

Fabulous location in a stunning part of the Lake District. Remote, but with the convenience of two pubs and two cafes on the doorstep. Cottage is lovely with all amenities. Perfect for seven people. Fabulous walks / bike rides in the immediate vicinity. Lake is a stones throw away, so equally great for a spot of paddle boarding! No need to use the Read morecar. Hide

Croft House Farm was a perfect place to stay for our family - comfortable, well equipped, super location. The beds were really comfortable and the large utility room was perfect for outdoor gear and bikes. The location is fantastic, right at the heart of Buttermere but no noticeable noise from the nearby cafe/pubs/passing tourists.
