Take a quirky holiday in Keswick with a mixed group and your dogs. This gorgeous stone property is near a few other holiday cottages in a mostly rural area in Cumbria. You’ll have a comfortable base with red squirrels in the garden, which you can watch from a unique structure. Further out, there are mountains, castles, stone circles and much more to make an incredible trip.
Enter the property and find a cosy lounge, perfect for unwinding in the evenings. There’s a wood burner, so if the evening is crisp, you can make everything snuggly. The decorations and furniture are eclectic, charming and timeless. Continue through to the dining area, which has a vintage teak table, and then go on to the kitchen. You’ll have plenty of options for cooking, with an oil AGA as a nice touch. The ground floor is completed with a WC and a utility room. Head upstairs and take a moment to check out the view from the landing window, then check out the bedrooms. One is a standard double room with an en-suite shower room, and the other has a double bed and a single bed in the same room. It also has an en-suite shower room. You’ll have access to an enclosed garden, plus a raised platform with a roof and a picnic bench, perfect for watching wildlife or having outdoor meals.
The house is in an area with a few other holiday properties, about 3 miles away from Keswick. Keswick is a bustling market town which borders Derwentwater, so you can splash around in the lake and then grab a bite in town or amble around the shops. Castlerigg Stone Circle, 5.5 miles away, is a fascinating remnant of ancient history, and certainly worth visiting.
