A lovely property providing stylish accommodation for up to six guests, located within walking distance of Coniston village, and with stunning views of Coniston Water.
Take an energetic holiday in Coniston. This stone cottage used to be a barn, and now it’s gorgeous accommodation for a big family or a trip where the kids bring their friends. The dogs are welcome, too! Coniston is a nice place surrounded by incredible countryside, so you can spend your days having little adventures and exploring the Lake District.
The property starts with a spacious, open-plan living area. The building’s history is preserved and honoured with exposed beams and a wood burner for a cosy, timeless feeling. One side of the room is a lounge with a corner sofa, and the other side has a well-equipped kitchen with a coffee machine. When you’ve made food, head through to the dining room to eat. You’ll pass a ground-floor WC. The family bathroom and the bedrooms are on the lower ground floor. There’s a nice bedroom with a king-size bed for the adults, and two children’s rooms, both of which have bunk beds. You’ll have a garden with stunning views over the surrounding area, enclosed by a low wall, so start your morning with a drink at the picnic table and the peaceful countryside.
Coniston is a friendly and picturesque village next to Coniston Water, so you can spend time with the locals or head to the lake with ease. If you’d like to really stretch your legs and give the dogs an excellent walk, try one of the nearby mountains. The Old Man of Coniston (2.5 miles) is a favourite, and there are plenty of other choices. On rainy days, gather everyone and visit Wray Castle (7 miles), a National Trust neo-Gothic castle with tours, seasonal events and activities for children.
