Just south of Penrith, you can access the northern lakes with Ullswater and its stunning scenery and famous steamers only 13.5 miles away. You can also visit the National Trust’s impressive Aira Force (19.5 miles) for a picturesque walk. Heading north, you can hop over the border to Scotland or enjoy the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
