Located in the heart of the Lake District, enviably close to Coniston Water, sits this attractive four-bedroom property. Surrounded by rolling countryside, and lake and mountain views, this holiday retreat has ample space for a family or group of friends who want to explore the stunning landscape.
The ground floor is a delightful space and those with a taste for olde-worlde charm will like the exposed beams and stone inglenook fireplace in the lounge. Sink into one of the huge sofas and enjoy a film on the Smart TV. A hallway leads from the lounge to the sleek kitchen where you’ll find all the essentials needed to cook up a feast and then serve it at the sociable dining table. But when the weather is good, you’ll want to open the patio doors and eat alfresco at the garden table. On this floor, you’ll also find two peaceful bedrooms featuring a king-size bed and bunk bed. From the dining area, stairs sweep up to the first floor and a pretty twin bedroom and a large bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub. Outside, the setting could not be more idyllic. Enjoy al fresco meals on the sunny patio or take it easy with a good book in the private garden. Alternatively, pack a picnic and stroll through the grounds to the water’s edge. The lakeshore area is shared with the four other properties on the estate but there’s plenty of room here to paddle, swim or simply while away the hours soaking up the glorious views.
Coniston Water, famed for its beauty and tranquillity, is perfect for water sports. Bring your boat and explore the surrounding area or hire a paddleboard or kayak. Coniston village (1.5 miles) is dotted with excellent restaurants and bars and lies in the shadow of The Old Man of Coniston (1.5 miles) – an awe-inspiring mountain range you can hike, cycle, and walk to the summit. Further afield, Grizedale Forest (8 miles) offers woodland trails, park sculptures, and thrilling forest zip wires, or for a more leisurely day out, discover Hill Top (5 miles) with its pretty garden and Beatrix Potter museum.
