Soak up the peace and tranquillity at this rural holiday home for two, close to the shores of Coniston Water. Nearby days out include the picturesque village of Hawkshead (3 miles), where William Wordsworth attended school, and Beatrix Potter’s writing retreat at Hill Top (5 miles). At the end of the day, unwind in your romantic bolthole, snuggled in front of the wood burner or sipping a sundowner in your private hot tub.

The stone cottage has been impeccably decorated and furnished, with a monochrome colour scheme and contemporary furniture. At the heart of the home is a lounge/kitchen/diner, with an impressive, vaulted ceiling. Spend time here cooking delicious dinners for two in the chic kitchen area, sharing meals at the glossy breakfast bar, or reclining on the Chesterfield sofa to watch the Smart TV. The elegant, king-size bedroom boasts far-reaching views through its dual-aspect windows, and is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. A separate bathroom completes the accommodation. French doors open from the living area to the garden, where you can dine alfresco or sip a glass of bubbly in the hot tub. Beyond the courtyard area is a large lawn – the ideal spot for a picnic lunch in the sunshine.

The village of Coniston is on the opposite side of the lake, about 1.5 miles away. Here you’ll find a good selection of eateries, cosy pubs, and independent shops. You can also hire rowing boats, paddleboards, and kayaks in the village to get out on the water. Alternatively, board the Coniston Launch or the Steam Yacht Gondola for a less energetic jaunt on the lake. There are some beautiful walks in the surrounding fells, including to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston, which offers panoramic views across the Lake District.

There wasn't loads of clothes storage. Might benefit from a set of drawers fitted in the wardrobe cupboard. The shower pressure was a little low so no power shower feeling in the mornings. These points didn't spoil our holiday. The hot tub was great, when it wasn't raining!! I thought the booking fee of 58 was excessive. I received several automateRead mored emails saying the same thing with no feeling that it came from a human. Where's the justification for paying that amount. Hide

Lovely quiet location with views of the old man of coniston. Hottub is a nice addition. We found the bed to be very comfortable and the kitchen dinner is a relaxing area. Personally we found the bedroom. Lacking in storage, needs more drawers and make sure you bring your own clothes hangers as the wardrobe only has 7. We also felt the sofa was uncoRead moremfortable. These are just our personal reviews and other people have clearly been very happy. The bathroom is a good size. We would stay here again. Hide

Comfortable, clean and tidy cottage. The location is lovely with walks very close by. We really enjoyed the hot tub, lovely after a walk in the hills. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked in most evenings. The cottage was cosy and warm-we loved coming in from the cold drizzle outside to the warmth of the underfloor heating.

Somewhere is a beautiful cottage, and although remote, it is a fantastic location for anyone looking to get away from it all. Only 1.5 miles scenic walk to the centre of Coniston. Stunning views too. The cottage is done to a high standard and is well equipped. We would certainly recommend.
