Featuring a well-balanced mix of original features and modern appliances, this country cottage provides a perfect base for a Lake District destination holiday with all of your closest companions. This box-ticking base welcomes up to eight guests across three well-proportioned storeys, complete with a garden to spend time in on summer evenings and a wood burner to curl up by when cold weather hits. Spend your time in the delightful village of Near Sawrey, a beloved Lake District destination that’s home to Hill Top (less than 300 metres), the famed home of Beatrix Potter.

Made with multi-generational groups in mind, the ground floor is split into two reception areas, a large lounge/diner with sofas, Sky TV and the cosy wood burner, alongside an additional snug room with more comfy seating and an Xbox 360 games console. Handily, there’s also a utility and a shower room here on the ground floor. Find the kitchen at the back of the property, a real treat for any budding chef with a double oven and an American-style fridge-freezer. Experience dinner with a view in the garden, soaking up the greenery as you enjoy meals outside. Heading back inside, three four restful bedrooms spread out on the first floor and an additional master bedroom at attic level.

The village is perched on the banks of Esthwaite Water (0.5 miles) a scenic spot with a boathouse café and plenty of opportunities for fishing trout and pike. Lake Windermere is also within walking distance (1.5 miles), so you can embark on a ferry across to Bowness-on-Windermere (2.5 miles) or simply set off on a walk around the water’s edge. For the very best view of Windermere, take a walk up Claife Heights (2.5 miles). Another popular National Park destination is Grizedale Forest (4.5 miles) with ample walking routes, bike paths and even a Go Ape! activity centre (5 miles).

Fantastic cottage! Loved our stay there celebrating a special birthday. It's spacious but cosy and really well-equipped, including loads of games and books for a rainy day. Lovely house, excellent location and had everything that we required (and more). The Tower Bank Arms pub across the road were really accommodating and good food (book before you set off for your holiday). Nice walks straight from the doorstep.

Lovely cottage in a wonderful location. Very well equipped kitchen and lovely bedrooms. So many fabulous walks in the vicinity. Wonderful cafe on the nearby Esthwaite lake was a particular highlight.

Wow, what a beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. The cottage has everything you need, extremely clean, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and excellent showers. There were numerous walks straight from the door with stunning views. There are 2 great village pubs and a 2 mile walk to Hawkshead gives you more eateries and shops. A brilliant place to stay. Luxurious with the added bonus of 3 bathrooms. We would certainly stay here again. We had to call the maintenance company when the lock broke. They were super efficient in coming out and sorting out the issue.

A very nice cottage, warm, nicely furnished and comfortable in a great location. Good wifi and Sky tv. Lovely walks from the door and higher peaks in the central lakes area easily within reach by car. Parking can be tricky for 3 or more cars especially if theyre med/large ones.

This was our third stay at this cottage due to its location and its proximity to a good pub! Cottage was clean, warm and well equipped and we enjoyed our time here. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage and very spacious with room for a large group. The log burner was welcomed as we had a very wet week. There is parking for 3 cars although 2 is ideal. Kitchen was well equipped and there is a lovely small courtyard when it stops raining. 2 good pubs in walking distance and a great location.

Notwithstanding the above that totally ruined our experience then the offer is good . Perhaps a review of on site car parking would help Sorry to make the negative comments above but feel you should be aware of same .
