This cosy retreat for two is set on the outskirts of the picture-postcard village of Cartmel, surrounded by rolling countryside and idyllic walking and cycling routes. The property overlooks Cartmel Racecourse, so it’s the perfect base for a fun-filled day at the races. Further afield, enjoy day trips to the coastal resort of Grange-over-Sands (3 miles) or Lake Windermere (6 miles). In the evening, sip a sundowner in your private summerhouse.
The cottage has been lovingly renovated to preserve its original features, and it’s full of homely touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The ground floor has an open-plan layout comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner. Spend time here, testing new recipes in the chic kitchen area, sharing delicious meals at the dining table or breakfast bar, and snuggling up on the sofa in the front of the roaring wood burner. Upstairs, an inviting double bedroom, with views over the racecourse, provides the perfect place for a good night’s rest. A stylish shower room rounds off the accommodation. Outside, a tranquil haven awaits in the enclosed patio garden. Dine alfresco in the sunshine, or grab your favourite book and retreat to the summerhouse for a relaxing couple of hours.
