Brimming with character, this handsome property features a lovely lawn and peaceful views across the Cartmel Peninsula. This opulent country home is a wonderful escape for small families or couples and their dog seeking a stylish base for exploring the Lake District. Foodies will be in their element sampling fine wines in the vibrant town of Cartmel (1.5 miles), before returning to this retreat to soak up the afternoon sun while perched on the veranda.

This luxurious retreat features a sleek country interior with high ceilings, elegant archways, polished wooden textures, and rich earthy hues. Step through the French doors to shrug off outer layers in the kitchen/diner. Gather around the fantastic wooden table to itinerary plan. In cooler months, curl up on the deep armchair in the snug and bask in the glow of the open fire. A beautiful timber-floored centre hall leads down to the grand lounge/diner, where the impressive carved wooden table is a great place to dine together. After supper, retire to the lounge and throw another log on the crackling wood burner before sinking onto the plump sofas. In warmer weather, throw open the double French doors to create a balmy indoor-outdoor space. When night falls, head up to either the beautiful king or the master king which has private garden access. Outside, inhale the crisp country air as you perch on the veranda with a morning brew or ball throw for your dog on the lawn.

Amble over rugged limestone rocks as you climb atop Hampsfell (within 1 mile), soak in the rich local history as you peruse the impressive Cartmel Priory (2 miles), or embark on a leisurely sail across the glistening waters of Windermere Lake (16 miles).

Absolutely loved this apartment with it's beautiful interior decor and fabulous view over Morcambe Bay. Beds were incredibly comfortable as were the sofa's and chairs. Delightful to have the home from home cosy wood burner. Loved the cycle rides into Cartmel, such a lovely village, shops, cafe's, pubs and of course the lovely Priory. This is the most beautiful home away from home. Clearly it has been a family home in the past and that is reflected by how homely and well-appointed it is. Beautiful clean interiors and kitchen has all you could need to knock up a family meal. Fabulous location to explore all the south lakes has to offer. This is a lovely property, elegantly furnished with real attention to delay down to the luxury branded toiletries. The kitchen is really well equipped, and we loved the wood burner as the evenings were chilly. Amazing views from the garden chairs, ideally enjoyed with a glass of wine in the evening. Very dog friendly, our boy had a great holiday!

Such beautiful accommodation in a perfect setting, so nice to find a dog friendly holiday home that is so clean and comfortable. The views, beds and luxury toiletries and towels were exceptional as was the owners gift of homemade flapjacks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a fabulous week at 1 Woodheads. Everything was perfect, the house, garden, the amazing view, the homemade flapjacks were absolutely delicious as was the tea and coffee, the dog basket was a lovely touch, a warm welcome on arrival from the owner.
