Idyllically positioned close to the eastern shores of Windermere, this traditional stone property is a treat both inside and out for up to seven guests. The hamlet of Far Sawrey boasts a friendly pub for slap-up meals that are best enjoyed after a bracing hike along the waters’ edge. On warmer days, the large garden has marvellous views of Lake Windermere and a patio for dining al fresco. Speaking of dining, the kitchen is fit to burst with delights ready for rustling up a meal, whether you are drawn to the AGA-style oven or fancy whipping up something simple that doesn’t require cooking. Hill Top is a mere 1 mile away for fans of the renowned author, plus you’ll have the awe-inspiring Esthwaite Water (2 miles) to admire too. For the adventure seekers, the local area is ripe for water sports, cycling and golf as well as mountain climbing if you are feeling active.

Lovely quirky, charming house. Fantastic kitchen, dining room and lounges, great for family and friends getting together for a birthday party. Great position just on the edge of the village with views of Letterbarrow, but only five minutes from pubs and shops.

We stayed here as a group of six hill walking friends, all tall adult males. We all had our own rooms and there was plenty of space. The kitchen area could accommodate two cooks plus someone chatting and another on teas/coffees no bother. The location was great for hill walking and literally a few minutes stroll from two good local pubs.

What a wonderful house. We were party of 8 celebrating an 80th birthday so the number of bedrooms and bathrooms was key & did not disappoint. Well stocked kitchen everything you needed was available and plenty of cutlery, crockery, pans etc. The range of sitting areas meant we could be together but also break off if we wanted some quiet time. A great well equipped house in a great location. We were a group of 10 and had plenty of room. Although the ensuites are a bit cramped, it was useful having so many.
