COTTAGE WITH GARDEN AND WOODBURNER SET ON THE SOLWAY COAST
The spacious detached chocolate box property with large garden is perfect for large family gatherings. Situated in the centre of the quaint village of Glasson, close to the Solway.
Located within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this traditional country cottage is perfect for a special reunion with family and friends. Tucked away in the peaceful hamlet of Glasson, you have the opportunity to explore the coastline, discover the northern areas of the Lake District National Park and even hop over the border into Scotland. When you return home of an evening and don’t feel like cooking, there’s a local pub within a few hundred metres where you can enjoy good food whilst relaxing and enjoying the company of loved ones.
Being a traditional cottage, there are lots of original features that add charm and character throughout, but light tones and contemporary fixtures and fittings make it comfortable for a modern visitor. After discarding coats and boots, head into the lounge and sink into a sofa in front of the roaring wood burner. From here, head into the well-equipped kitchen before taking your home-cooked food through to the dining room. Completing the accommodation are five bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room, so there’s plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. Outside, there is an enclosed garden to the front, which provides somewhere to stretch your legs or soak up the tranquillity.
Walkers and cyclists alike will enjoy this area with many routes to choose from including the Cumbrian Cycleway which passes through Glasson, and the Hadrian’s Wall path. If you’re near the Upper Solway Flats and Marshes, look out for seals, dolphins and porpoises that have been sighted offshore. Cumbria’s county town, Carlisle, is 11.5 miles away and has a range of shops, eateries and amenities for you to enjoy. Heading further afield into the Lake District, you can enjoy walks around the most northerly lake: Bassenthwaite (24 miles).
