One of three properties available to stay in, this charming mews cottage has everything you need for a getaway with your family, friends, and your canine companions. Sitting in the shadow of Skiddaw, with walking routes from the doorstep, and close to the superb town of Keswick, you will have everything you need within easy reach.
Head into the charming and spacious lounge full of character. Cosy up in front of the warming gas fire as you watch your favourite TV series or play a game together. A kitchen/diner has plenty of surface space for preparing food and practical appliances for cooking up a storm. If it is too chilly to dine alfresco, you have two dining tables inside to choose from. There are two bedrooms and a shower room completing the interior. Outside is an enclosed garden that is shared with the two neighbouring mews cottages. Take a seat on the patio furniture and soak up the views across to the mountains and fells surrounding you.
Explore walks and cycling routes from the doorstep and head into Whinlatter Forest Park, the country’s only true mountain forest. Keswick town is 4 miles away, and has loads of independent shops, delightful restaurants, and quaint pubs to enjoy. Next door to the town is a little village called Portinscale, head to the marina and hire out boats, paddle boards or kayaks, and enjoy the superb Derwentwater Lake. If you fancy a challenging climb, try the mountain of Skiddaw (4 miles) or the high hill of Blencathra, accessed from Threlkeld (7.5 miles).
