Continue for just under 2 miles and turn left by a small rough car park, taking the road signposted for Dockray.
Cockley Moor Cottage is just below this junction, the second building on the right ( after cockley Moor main house) with it's gate at a right-angles to the road.
There is parking for 2 medium cars inside the gate, and space for a further car directly outside the gate.
The postcode for Cockley Moor Cottage is CA11 0LG.
Please note that due to the remote location of Cockley Moor Cottage the road leading up to the cottage can be affected by ice or snow in winter conditions. The main road (A5091) is routinely gritted and cleared however the 2 miles from the main road to the cottage are not. In such weather conditions you are advised NOT to turn off at 'Dowthwaite Head' as mentioned above.
Carry on the A5091 to the village of Dockray. At The Royal Hotel turn right (signposted 'Dowthwaite Head') and follow this for just under a mile and Cockley Moor is the second house on the left. If you reach the crossroads you've gone a 100 yards too far.
This is the road the locals tend to use more often an is usually ok unless the snow and ice is severe. In instances such as these snow chains are advised.
