Two weeks until Christmas! That really has come around quickly…
There's still plenty of time to get yourself into that festive spirit and we have lots going on here in the Lake District! If you’re visiting this weekend, take a look at all the Christmassy things you could be getting up to!
Santa is having a very busy weekend, as you might expect! He'll be at The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven from 11am to 4pm this Saturday and Sunday. There's plenty for the little ones to enjoy with a grotto, Christmas trails, and crafts.

£5 per child includes a gift from Santa and a workshop creation.
The man in red will also be at Hayes Garden World in Ambleside over the weekend. Follow the tracks of The Santa Express, into Winter Wonderland where you'll find golden tickets, snowball-throwing snowmen, and fishing penguins! When the kinds find Santa he'll welcome them with a gift, book, and photo to honour the occasion!

As if that's not enough, Father Christmas will also be at Rheged near Penrith: join him in his magical candy cane forest and gingerbread house or write him a letter - you'll even get a reply!

If comedy is your thing, you can see award-winning comedian Zoe Lyons at Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven on Sat 15th Dec at 8pm. Zoe takes a sideways view of life, turning life’s little absurdities into a hilarious routine delivered with conviction and energy!

Glass Blowing and Puppetry
Have you ever fancied a go at shaping molten glass? Cumbria Crystal in Ulverston is offering glass blowing classes from this weekend until the 23rd of December. Create your own Christmas baubles in these short intro lessons and learn more about the fascinating process. You'll create something really special to hang on your Christmas tree!
Lessons are 15-minutes per person at £20 for 8+ years and £25 for 13+ years
Also in Ulverston this weekend is the Puppet Theatre's Christmas show, The Snow Queen. This fabulous theatre is a must-see if you're in the area with fantastic puppets and puppetry bringing to life the classic Hans Christian Anderson story of witchcraft and love.
This weekends performance is on Sunday 16th December at 2.30pm. Adults £10, Children £8.50, Family Ticket (2 adults & 2 children) £32.

Lowther Castle & Gardens
You can really get into the Christmas spirit at Lowther Castle this weekend, with lots of different events taking place. Follow the winter Pom Pom Trail to help Tammy O’Shanter on her quest to find the perfect pom pom for her hat; visit an old-fashioned Father Christmas in his carriage parked in the Lowther Stables; build your own Christmas wreath bird feeder; or take part in a crafts shop creating snow globes and felt reindeers!
