Before we moved into our Keswick office, Sally’s Cottages was based at Sally and Rob’s house in a little village called Wallthwaite, ten minutes drive from Keswick. There was a real liveliness about life there. At the time, the whole place was a building site; there was no central heating in the house and the electrics were ancient. It was interesting in the early days, working to the crashing and banging of tradesmen (at one point there was a digger working in the room next door).
With bare walls in the office, all the floors up and with kids everywhere, there was a general feeling of organized chaos, but an amazingly dynamic work environment.
By the time we moved into the new offices in Keswick, Sally and Rob had done lots of work on the farmhouse; they had a huge wood burning boiler installed in the garage, which ran the central heating and the hotwater and a few weeks before we left they finally got a kitchen fitted!
As soon as we moved into our smart new offices in St John’s Street in Keswick, things stepped up a gear – we consistently have an astonishing number of visitors coming in to pick up a brochure and have a chat about what sort of things we have on offer. If you are passing, please do pop in and pick up a brochure - we have all kinds of Lake District cottages, from beautiful cottages in the stunning Eskdale and Wasdale valleys to modern town centre apartments in Keswick. Our website designed by Hydrant Software up in Carlisle has worked brilliantly since day one (at one point Sally seemed to spend most of her time collecting awards and prizes for it), cottage bookings have been fantastic and most importantly, we have been getting loads of positive feedback from visitors staying at our Lake District Cottages.
‘Staycationning’ was a real buzzword this year and it looks like next year is going to be another good one for visitors coming to the Lake District. To find your dream Lake District cottage, click here.
