Happy New Year: What's on over New Year in the Lake District

Published:

We hope you’ve had an amazing Christmas!

Before you start making those resolutions (and I’d recommend one being visiting the Lakes lots) you need to decide what to do to ring the New Year in.

If you’re in Keswick you may want to make your way down to Market Square. Just a stone’s throw from our office and right in the center of Keswick, it is definitely the place to be! As midnight approaches revellers make their way out of surrounding houses and pubs and convene in the Market Square. A countdown starts and everyone welcomes 2019 into Keswick. Whilst not an official event, it is a special moment shared by locals and visitors alike.. plus it’s free!

Windermere, the Lake District

If you find yourself in beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere, a number of hotels on the shore do their own firework displays. It has become quite the custom for visitors and locals to gather down by the jetty on the lake shore. From here people can see the many displays from this fabulous vantage point.

If you are looking for something more organised, you might want to take yourself to Bootleggers Bar in Kendal. Bring in the New Year with 4 part musicians, Sold to the Sky, and  a DJ. Covering Indie, Rock and Pop there is something for everyone at Bootleggers this NYE.
Entry Fee includes a glass of Fizz
Strictly Over 18s only. Ticket Prices £13
