What an amazing spell of weather we’re having at the moment. High pressure sitting over us has brought crisp, clear days and frosty nights. We celebrated New Year’s Eve with a midnight moonlit walk.
Over the Christmas break we had just one day of fog. Some friends of ours went up Clough Head and were rewarded with an amazing view out onto a sea of clouds just below their feet. Apparently the Brocken spectres were out as well.
It’s a fantastic time of year – very relaxed with few crowds. Early yesterday morning, Rob and Ted (the dog) took a hike up Blencathra and had the summit to themselves. Not a soul in sight.
It’s been nice for so long now – let’s hope that this bodes well for the rest of 2009!
