Bonfire and Firework Displays This Week in the Lake District

If you are staying in our of our Lake District cottages this weekend, you might like to know about all the events for Bonfire night in the region – there are plenty of them and you won’t have to travel far to find a display.

One of the finest in the area is the display put on by the good folk of the Swinside Inn in the Newlands Valley. Tickets are on sale from the pub and there is a real party atmosphere. There will be an outside bar and delicious food, on Saturday 2nd November.

Hayes of Ambleside, a mammoth garden centre/homewares shop holds a late night shopping event on 1st November, laying on food and fireworks. Admission is by ticket only. The seriously glittery and widely renowned World of Christmas display and shop will be open – a truly amazing/slightly unnerving spectacle.

FireworksOn 2nd November there is a free fireworks display and bonfire at Cartmel Racecourse, starting at 6.30pm. Hot food and drinks will be available all evening. Donations welcome towards the Cartmel village playground fund.

Skelwith Fold is a honey pot location near Ambleside. their popular fireworks night is on Saturday 2nd November. Local caterers Fell and Dale are provided hot baguettes included in the ticket price of £6 - yummy beef & onion or pork and apple sauce (plus a veggie choice).

Cockermouth’s annual firework display takes place at 6pm on 3rd November by the river, accessed via the Gote Road Bridge.
