Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team kick off their inaugural festival on 6th September, held at the team’s base at Christian Head.
The Beer ‘n’ Bangers Festival in Kirkby Stephen is a joint venture between the town’s mountain rescue team, local Scouts and Rotary Club.
On offer will be more than 30 different beers, 5 ciders and 6 types of locally made sausages.
The festival takes place over a weekend and will feature live music from local bands and singers.
There will also be contributions from Upper Eden Community First Responders who will be providing a bacon butties and hot drinks from the rescue base on the weekend mornings, and afternoon tea on Saturday.
Plenty of family entertainment is being laid on to keep all ages amused. On Saturday kids can enjoy the bouncy castles, whilst adults can try their luck on a geocaching trail. Tickets are on sale for the festival, costing just £5 a night, or £8 for both nights if bought in advance.
Kirkby Stephen is a Cumbrian village in the Eden Valley at the foot of the Pennines. It is served by the Carlisle to Settle historic railway and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The Lake District is easily accessed from Kirkby Stephen, although given the immense beauty on the doorstep, there is plenty to see and do in the immediate area.
