Blencathra Cottage is a wonderful cottage in the village of Threlkeld. Located on Blease Road above the village, the cottage has outstanding uninterrupted views of St John's in the Vale from the sitting room. You can also wake up to the beautiful view from the master bedroom; it is almost worth staying in bed for!
The cottage has been lovingly renovated by the current owners and now offers stylish country living, with two wood-burners to keep you nice and cosy and all the modern facilities you would expect in a holiday cottage.
The location of the cottage, as it's name suggests, gives easy access to some wonderful walking particularly on Blencathra, one of the most iconic fells in the Lake District. Threlkeld also has two welcoming pubs, both of both serve food and local ale. The amenities and shops of Keswick are just a five-minute drive away or a pleasant four-mile stroll along the old railway line.
You can walk straight into the Glenderaterra Valley from Blencathra Cottage, a scenic and straightforward walk, also suitable for mountain bikers.
Please note: There is currently construction work ongoing in the field opposite Blencathra Cottage. Do just bear in mind that if you book Blencathra Cottage for dates in 2021/22 that there may be work ongoing. The views at the property aren't affected and noise is being kept at a minimum where possible.
