Situated in the village of Gosforth, on the edge of the Lake District and just 3 miles from the coast, sits this three-bedroom property. It’s a good choice for a family plus two dogs looking for a comfortable retreat with plenty of indoor and outdoor space plus easy access to the seaside and western lakes.

The interior is cheerful and bright with homely decor adding to the welcoming atmosphere. After a day of activity, unwind on the plump sofas in the lounge or light the wood burner and snuggle up with a film on the TV. If the weather is good, you’ll want to open the patio doors and let the fresh Cumbrian air breeze in. From the lounge, wooden doors open onto the dining room with seating for six people while the separate kitchen is well-equipped and even has a wood burner to keep you toasty warm. When bedtime beckons, wood-panelled flooring sweeps up to the first floor where you’ll find three double bedrooms. All the bedrooms are light and airy with plenty of storage space. Outside the rear garden is a peaceful spot for breakfast or evening drinks. While you absorb the lovely surroundings let the children play fetch with Fido on the fenced lawn.

Gosforth is a tranquil village with an array of dog-friendly pubs and restaurants. For hiking and biking head 3 miles to Blengdale Forest or discover Wastwater (6 miles), England’s deepest lake. For a day on the beach, head to Seascale (3 miles) or explore the dunes at Drigg (4 miles).
