Admire the views from the sunny seating area or wander through the secret garden when you stay at this welcoming Lake District holiday home. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom retreat, which offers dog-friendly accommodation, is set in glorious Cumbrian countryside on the fringes of Torver, 2.5 miles from Coniston village. Here you can book a cruise out on Coniston Water or even hire your own canoes or paddle boards. You can also pick up footpaths taking you on a 15.5-mile route all the way round the lake.

Take five steps up to this single-storey Lakeland home and let yourselves in via the porch. Unlace your walking boots or shuffle off your wellies in here before wandering on into the house. Unpack any fresh provisions you have bought through in the kitchen/diner before putting the kettle on for a well-earned cup of tea. Return to the kitchen later to prepare a tasty dinner for your family or friends to enjoy at the table. Spend your evenings together in the homely lounge. Recline on the soft seating to watch the Smart TV or chat as you gaze out at the picturesque views. When you are ready to retire for the night, amble through to the king-size, the double or the twin bedroom to lay your head on your pillow. There is a family wet room at the property. Play games with the children or your four-legged friend out on the lawn in the summer months. Take them to explore the secret garden with you, then dine out in the sunshine afterwards.

Pick up the Coniston launch from the jetty in Torver and perhaps disembark at Brantwood to see the former home of writer John Ruskin. Eager hikers might like to tackle the Old Man of Coniston or Dow Crag during their stay.

Awesome home and location. Great fenced garden and views. Can not fault Hollace for a vacation.
