While away hours at a time gazing out towards Skiddaw from this inviting holiday home near Bassenthwaite Lake. Sleeping five guests, the three-bedroom retreat is 1.5 miles from Bassenthwaite village and 6 miles from the bustling Lakeland town of Keswick. Set with two other holiday homes inside the building, it enjoys great privacy and has its own patio that captures the panoramic views out across the Lake District.
Make your way into the building via the shared entrance hall. Step in through your own front door to find comfortable accommodation to suit parties of relatives or friends, including those wishing to bring dogs with them. Spend most of your time together in the generous lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can open the French doors on to the patio on sunny days. Spend cosy evenings in, watching TV or playing games, and take turns at whipping up hearty Cumbrian feasts in the kitchen area. Lay the table inside or out for your jolly holiday meals together. When you are ready to lay your head on your pillow, make your way up to the first floor, where a double bedroom, a twin and a single are all situated. The family bathroom is also up here. Wake up to glorious views and head downstairs for breakfast on the patio on summer mornings. Linger over your coffee as you take in the views down towards Bassenthwaite Lake.
Follow picturesque footpaths through the surrounding area. Visit Mirehouse and Gardens, less than 2 miles away, where you can stroll through pretty gardens and leafy woodland and walk beside the lake. There are also play areas for children. Head into Keswick to shop, dine out and walk beside Derwentwater. Hire canoes and kayaks or take a lake cruise from the marina at Portinscale, 8.5 miles from your holiday home.
