Situated in the grounds of a large estate, this quaint and traditional stone-built retreat features exposed timber beams, a large bay window with window seats and a charming garden with wonderful rural views.

Entering the property, steps lead up to the main accommodation. The bright, airy lounge/diner features plenty of seating, a Smart TV, an exposed timber beam and a lovely dining area by the bay windows offering delightful views over the grounds. There’s a handy breakfast and snack bar in the fully equipped kitchen. The property also has a spacious double bedroom with a refreshing en-suite shower room. Outside, the garden features a charming lawn with seating, perfect for relaxing in on a sunny afternoon. The cottage shares 12 acres of grounds with the main house, offering some wonderful walks and beautiful views.

Close to the River Lune, the cottage lies on the outskirts of the pretty village of Arkholme just south of Kirkby Lonsdale (6 miles) which has a choice of welcoming pubs and restaurants. This is a great base for climbers, walkers and nature lovers, with the Yorkshire Dales to the east (6.5 miles), the Forest of Bowland to the south (3.5 miles), the Lake District to the north (18 miles) and Arnside and Silverside to the west (9 miles). Attractions include Lancaster Castle, Devil’s Bridge, Farleton Knott, Cinderbarrow Miniature Railway and Leighton Hall Estate, all within 12 miles.

In a beautiful location, this cottage has potential to be an ideal get-away for two people. However, as it is currently equipped, it does not stand alone from the main house as a suitable accommodation. The bed and linen are excellent quality. Unfortunately the rest of the furnishings do not provide the same comfort. The lack of Wi-fi is unacceptabRead morele!
