Close to the River Lune, the cottage lies on the outskirts of the pretty village of Arkholme just south of Kirkby Lonsdale (6 miles) which has a choice of welcoming pubs and restaurants. This is a great base for climbers, walkers and nature lovers, with the Yorkshire Dales to the east (6.5 miles), the Forest of Bowland to the south (3.5 miles), the Lake District to the north (18 miles) and Arnside and Silverside to the west (9 miles). Attractions include Lancaster Castle, Devil’s Bridge, Farleton Knott, Cinderbarrow Miniature Railway and Leighton Hall Estate, all within 12 miles.
