This family-friendly apartment is tucked away on a quiet lane in Coniston with village amenities and the majestic Coniston Water less than half a mile from the doorstep.

This beautiful holiday home offers high quality self-catering accommodation in a superb location that is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the high fells or along the banks of Coniston Water. Situated on a quiet lane, it is only a couple of minute’s stroll into Coniston village with its variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs and independent shops. Coniston Lodge holds important historical standing in the area, as it was rented by Donald Campbell during his last and fatal attempt to break the world speed record on Coniston.

This exceptionally well-equipped apartment is situated on the first floor, with views across the lane of traditional slate houses and onward to the Yewdale Fells. The property is very comfortably furnished with a full range of modern appliances to accommodate four people in two good-sized bedrooms. It is especially appealing to families with children. The delightful twin bedroom features Beatrix Potter’s characters with soft toys and patchwork cushions completing the look – a must for fans young and old!

The beautiful shared garden provides a peaceful area to sit out and enjoy the sunshine amongst the pretty hanging baskets, pots and planters.

Located in the southern Lake District, Coniston is a popular destination with its majestic scenery, wonderful walking and cycling. There is a vast array of things to do for visitors of all ages in the area including Hilltop, Beatrix Potter's home at Near Sawrey, the Lakeland Motor Museum at Newby Bridge, Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage in Grasmere and Grisedale Forest which has cycle tracks and a Go Ape course.

The property is approached via a pretty front garden adorned with colourful shrubs. A bench at the front door provides a handy spot to take off those muddy boots after a day out walking. In the shared entrance hall you'll find a variety of local handmade delights for sale such as, chutneys, jams and marmalades. On this level there is also a shared laundry comprising of a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

Up a short flight of internal stairs you arrive at the property. On entering the property you are greeted by a small hallway with plenty of space for coats, shoes and luggage. The bright open-plan living space has three large windows overlooking the lane, with views up towards the Yewdale Fells.

The modern kitchen caters for your every need with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and integrated fridge/freezer. Alongside the kitchen are a dining table and four chairs. Many lovely touches, such as a welcome tray with a delicious homemade cake, help to get your holiday off to a great start.

The living room has comfy sofas and armchairs for lounging after a busy day. The room benefits from a wood-burner effect electric fire and a television with DVD player for snuggling up in the evenings.

Both bedrooms are a good size, having wardrobes with full-length mirrors and other useful storage. The double has a king-size bed and is decorated in pink and green pastel shades giving it a cottage feel. The twin features a Beatrix Potter theme with patchwork quilts and soft toys, appealing to young and old. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with electric showers over the bath, hand basin and WC.

Outside you'll find a delightful cottage garden for you to share with the neighbouring apartment. Nestled amongst the hanging baskets, pots and planters, a separate seating area is allocated for the property with table, chairs, parasol and sunbeds. It's a fabulous place to relax in the late afternoon sunshine after a long day out walking or sightseeing.

Tasty welcome cake. Lovely, clean, light, if slightly busy rooms ( a cottage feel.) Great showers. Very helpful and friendly, but unobtrusive, hosts. An amazing location. Would definitely stay again. Ticks all the boxes, 10 out of 10.
