Accommodation was spacious very clean and well equipped. A good general location for seeing the lakes. A bit of a hill climb if walking to the cottage. One downside was the smell of the dustbins.

Hello John, You really can't beat getting away from it all, can you? Thank you for letting me know about the dustbins, I will look into this. I hope you will plan a return visit to the beautiful Lakes very soon.

The cottage was really clean when we arrived and very well equipped. Centrally located only a short walk into Windermere and slightly longer (and steeper) into Bowness but still definitely walkable! Lovely walks right outside the door! Can’t really be beaten on location. The garden was a bit tricky for the dog as it’s only a front garden (no back) and not enclosed so we had to keep putting him on the lead every time he wanted to go outside which was annoying but definitely not a deal breaker given the rest of the benefits. The only thing I’ve really marked down on was the bed - possibly the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept in - the mattress was very lumpy and you could feel the springs in you every time you moved which is not really what you want when you’ve done a whole day of activities and walking and need a good nights sleep. I didn’t get any sleep the first night so on the second day we bought lots of wine .

Hi Vicki, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? And perfectly positioned for exploring this beautiful part of the Lakes. I'm sorry to hear you found the bed to be uncomfortable. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'll make sure we get it checked out. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We were so lucky to find this cottage with a week available! It is located at the foot of a country road leading up to beautiful countryside and stunning views, yet an easy walk to Bowness and Windermere and straightforward driving to everywhere else. It seems to be more of a residential than tourist area and the neighbours were friendly and welcoming, with tips and recommendations galore. We really appreciated the peace at the house, compared with the crowds in the towns in high season.
The house is fantastically well equipped and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and I did feel ‘covid safe.’ For a 2 bedroom cottage, the rooms felt big and our two teenagers were surprisingly happy sharing as each had plenty of space and said their beds were really comfortable. It was a lovely cool house in hot weather and if it hadn’t been so sunny, we would have been glad of the big utility room space for wet coats, boots, dog etc. It was great to have more than enough kitchen equipment and plenty of storage space, rather than just the bare essentials like so many holiday cottages. A big fridge freezer, a dishwasher and constant hot water all make life easier too!
The garden faces the (quiet) road and is not fenced, so you do need to keep an eye on dogs and small children, but our dog was happy to stay behind the low wall and greet passers by.
All in all, we had a wonderful week in this cottage and congratulate the owners who have worked hard to create a really lovely holiday home.
