Gate Farm in Yanwath is a characterful and comfortable cottage with a wealth of history behind it. The original longhouse was built in 1650 and today houses the kitchen and dining room. It was not until 1772 that the new extension was built which included the granary (what is now the sitting room).
Today the cottage is full of original features balanced with a modern finish to add a touch of luxury to your stay. Expect beams, slate floors, wood burners, under floor heating, large rooms and a stunning bathroom with a roll top bath.
In the summer, enjoy a BBQ in a large, fully enclosed garden or else relax in the glass summer house.
Yanwath Gate Farm is perfect for exploring the eastern fells of the Lake District and the unspoilt Eden Valley is right on your doorstep. Ullswater Lake is a mere 5-minute drive away.
With secure bike storage, plenty of parking and an excellent pub just a minute down the road, this cottage will be perfect for large family gatherings as well as groups of friends.
