Wythop Mill Cottage is one of our NEW COTTAGES!
Wythop Mill Cottage is a quirky cottage for up to 4 people and 2 lucky dogs. This home from home is full of charm and original character features. The accommodation is laid out over 2 floors but due to the age of the property, there are some steps between the rooms on the ground floor. Down 3 steps from the useful utility area is the lovely kitchen-diner, which leads through to the cosy living room with wood burning stove and the characterful snug. Upstairs on the first floor are the 2 lovely double bedrooms and the family bathroom. As well as parking for 1 car, the cottage has a wonderful garden with outdoor furniture and the beck running close by.
As the name suggests, Wythop Mill Cottage can be found in the pretty hamlet of Wythop Mill. There are some wonderful walking opportunities straight from the front door. Head up popular Sale Fell, a short but fairly steep climb, the views from the top are certainly worth the effort. Continue onto neighbouring Ling Fell or explore the local woodlands – be sure to keep an eye out for the resident red squirrels too! You’ll be in need of some refreshments after all that exercise so why not treat yourselves to meal out at the popular Pheasant Inn, just a 5 minute drive away.
Bustling Keswick is less than a 15 minute drive away. There’s a great choice of independent and outdoor shops to indulge in some retail therapy, or treat yourselves to supper out in one of the local restaurants before taking in a show at the renowned Theatre by the Lake. Or why not head west to the quaint Georgian market town of Cockermouth? Visit Wordsworth House, the childhood home of poet William Wordsworth, or enjoy a peaceful riverside stroll. Families will love the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park, whilst adults can partake in a tour and tasting at the fantastic Lakes Distillery.
