Imagine yourself at Woodlands Cottage, far away from the crowds, the noise, the hustle and bustle. Put your feet up in the comfortable lounge in front of the wood burning stove and enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of local ale. This little cottage is five minutes from the village pub, four miles from Bassenthwaite Lake, 12 miles from Keswick and a million miles from noise, stress and pollution.
Set in the grounds of Woodlands Country House, Woodlands Cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps up to three people. It was originally the stables for the Victorian vicarage and retains a lot of character. The large comfortable lounge/diner has a high pitched roof, beautiful views across the fields towards Boltongate and a huge wood burning stove to toast your toes on chilly evenings.
Ireby is well positioned for exploring all that the Western Lakes has to offer and the M6 is just half an hour away. Hadrian’s Wall to the east is under an hour’s drive. Historic Carlisle with its ancient Castle, museum and cathedral is 18 miles. Bustling Keswick, a jewel in the northern Lake District's crown situated on the shores of the incredibly picturesque Derwentwater, is just a 25 minute drive from the cottage. It's a vibrant market town with a wonderful atmosphere where you can indulge your wild side with any number of adventurous outdoor activities or pamper your taste buds with a huge range of eateries offering great local food and Cumbrian real ales.
