Winder Barn is a charming semi-detached cottage for up to six people at High Winder. With three well appointed bedrooms, a high standard of decor and bags of character this makes a delightful holiday home for a family or small group. The owners have employed local art, fresh decor, cosy textiles and period details to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The four cottages at High Winder can be let together if you would like to accommodate a larger group.
On arrival at Winder Barn guests enter directly into the delightful open plan living and dining space. The living area has two large green leather sofas and one armchair arranged around a cosy gas stove and a TV with DVD player while the wooden dining table comfortably seats six. It's a lovely welcoming room with fresh decor and local interest, ideal for long post dinner conversations planning your holiday adventures. There's also a handy under-stairs cupboard for your bits and bobs.
Beyond the dining area is the well-equipped fitted kitchen. It has a built-in fan oven, four gas hobs, a dishwasher, microwave, under-counter fridge and freezer along with a washing machine (a dryer is available in the communal laundry room).
Moving up the stairs to the gorgeous bedrooms guests first come to a king-size room. It's a delightful space with a low window looking out onto the courtyard, a wardrobe for storage and a modern en-suite shower room with power shower in a curved enclosure. There's a further king-size room along the corridor with a heavy carved wooden bed frame, a wardrobe and drawers for storage and another modern en-suite shower room with power shower. The room also has a well placed low window where you can sit in bed with your morning cuppa looking out onto the fellside and the visiting wildlife. Moving along the corridor where there is a sweet low window (where little ones will love to lie and read a book) and three steps up to the gorgeous twin room. This has a dressing table and wardrobe for storage, a long narrow window with a view to the grounds and an en-suite bathroom with curved bath and over-bath power shower.
Outside the cottage there is a beautiful private area with a table and chairs for outdoor dining, guests at Winder Barn also have access to the substantial shared grounds.
