A short walk from the centre of Ambleside, tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac, Wilwyn is a charming cottage for three people and one lucky dog. This Lakeland stone cottage provides welcoming accommodation where you're sure to feel right at home. Through the handy entrance porch you'll find the living room. Complete with wood burner, it's a lovely cosy room. The well-equipped dining kitchen is at the back of the cottage. Off the kitchen is a delightful private patio and a shared garden for you to enjoy. Up on the first floor are the two bedrooms, a lovely double and a good size single, both with original feature fireplaces giving a clue to the cottage's history. The shower room completes the upstairs. As well as parking for a car, a real bonus so close to the centre of Ambleside, Wilwyn also has a secure outbuilding with hanging storage for two bikes.
Ambleside is a true Lakeland village with plenty to keep you busy during your holiday. Walkers will find very little need to use the car. With so many walks to enjoy 'from the door' you will be spoiled for choice - The Fairfield Horseshoe is one of the finest high level walks in the Lakes. Climb Loughrigg, Wansfell or Todd Crag for fantastic views, or ramble 'Under Loughrigg' to Rydal and beyond. On easier days you can enjoy exploring local shops for tasty produce, daytime treats and afternoon teas. Just a few minutes' walk away at Waterhead is a wonderful lakeside beach, perfect for picnics or you can also catch the launch for a cruise round beautiful Lake Windermere. Take an evening stroll out to the many restaurants or pubs; visit the award winning Zeffirelli's with a multiscreen Cinema for a choice of the latest films or live music.
Grasmere is a short drive or cycle away with Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage and much more. The Langdales, Windermere and Keswick are a short drive away.
