Willow Barn is a stunning detached stone cottage nestled in the tranquil hamlet of Bennet Head high above Ullswater Lake. Sleeping up to three people in two beautifully appointed bedrooms it is perfectly situated to make the most of this wonderful Lakeland valley or alternatively just to escape the hectic pace of modern life in a warm and luxurious environment. It makes the most perfect romantic hideaway for two, it also has a beautiful ground floor bedroom and shower room if any members of your party have mobility issues. Both of the beds have Hypnos mattresses and goose down quilts making it the most relaxing place possible for your break.
On arrival at the property guests are greeted by the beautiful open plan living space. It's a glorious double height room decorated with a subtle colour palette and sumptuous furnishings. The staircase up to the beautiful mezzanine is in the centre of the room giving it three distinct spaces while being open and sociable at the same time.
The living area has a deep comfortable sofa and a stylish love seat. Perfect for relaxing with a good book, watching the flat screen Smart TV with DVD or just snuggling up around the log burner on chilly evenings. There is a dining table for four with a wonderful view out through double doors to the garden and fells beyond, just the place to inspire your day while you are eating your breakfast.
The well-equipped modern kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, fan oven and induction hobs as well as all the crockery and cookware you will need for your stay. The owners have even provided an instant boiling water tap. It has been stylishly designed to make a sociable food preparation space within the open plan living area.
Moving through to the downstairs bedroom, the king-size bed has a hanging rail, a stylish upholstered bed frame and two windows looking out on the garden and the stunning view down to the lake and fell tops. The shower room is just across the hall with its modern suite, underfloor heating, huge walk-in shower enclosure and large drencher shower head. Ideal for massaging away aching muscles after long Lakeland walks. On this floor there is also a handy utility cupboard with washer/dryer.
The curved staircase in the main room takes you up to the wonderful mezzanine bedroom. It has a glass wall going up into the eaves which looks down on the main living space and velux windows. There is some wardrobe space under the eaves and another comfy king-size bed. It really is a romantic haven of a room.
Outside there is ample gravelled parking for several cars and a lovely enclosed garden with outdoor dining furniture for enjoying sunny morning breakfasts and sunset glasses of wine. That spectacular panorama of the Helvellyn range and High Street stretches out ahead of you while Ullswater beckons from the valley floor. What a magical setting.
